Fohr pays you directly for paid campaigns and BulletinsAn individual opportunity a brand invites you to apply to., through Stripe.
Before you start
Go to Payments in the left sidebar. You’ll need a Stripe account, or the details to create one, since Fohr sends payments through Stripe rather than handling them directly.
Connect a Stripe account
Select Connect with Stripe and complete Stripe’s own signup. Once connected, this screen shows Payments Connected, and a full history of any payments sent through Fohr appears here going forward.
Stripe asks for identity information during that signup, including your Social Security Number (or ITIN) and sometimes a photo ID. This is required by law to verify your identity, and it’s used for fraud prevention, tax reporting (1099 forms), and financial-compliance checks. Stripe stores this information securely and never shares it with brands or Fohr.
Fohr covers all payment processing fees. The amount a brand sends is the amount you receive in your Stripe account.
Payment timing
Once a brand approves a payment, funds typically arrive in your bank account in 2 to 3 business days, depending on your bank.
Your first payout is the exception: new Stripe accounts have a standard 7 to 14 day hold before their first payout, a fraud-prevention measure required by Stripe that can’t be bypassed. After that first successful payout, later payments arrive within the usual 2 to 3 business days.
Manage your payout details
Update your bank account directly in your Stripe dashboard, from Payouts or Bank accounts: add a new account or remove an existing one. Changes take effect immediately for future payouts.
Taxes and 1099s
If you earn $600 or more from Fohr in a calendar year, you receive a 1099-NEC tax form, reporting your earnings to the IRS. Stripe sends 1099s on Fohr’s behalf. Check your email from Stripe or sign in to your Stripe dashboard to find yours.
Troubleshooting
Two questions come up most often about getting paid, and both have a quick answer:
Why is my first payment on hold? #
New Stripe accounts have a standard 7 to 14 day waiting period before their first payout. This is a fraud-prevention measure required by Stripe, not something Fohr or you can bypass. After your first successful payout, future payments arrive within 2 to 3 business days.
Why haven't I received my 1099? #
Three common reasons: you earned less than $600 from Fohr this calendar year, your tax information in Stripe is incomplete, or it’s sitting in your spam folder.
