Set goals and read the forecast
The forecast tells you whether the lineup you are assembling will do what the campaign needs. It has no opinion until you give it a target, so setting the goal is what turns the panel from empty tiles into a planning tool.
Before you start
Open the review in Build and find Goals & Forecast. Have the campaign’s actual target to hand, since a guessed goal produces confidence figures nobody should act on. For what each figure means, see Creator Review.
How to set the goal
Set all three before reading anything in Check delivery forecast. The forecast calculates against them, so figures you read before you set them are not conservative. They are empty.
- Select Edit views goal and enter the total views this lineup is meant to deliver. GOAL CONFIDENCE and CONFIDENCE FLOOR both measure against this, and both stay empty until it exists.
- Select Edit target creators and enter how many creators the finished lineup should hold. This is what the TOP PICKS tile measures lineup progress against.
- Select Edit deliverables per creator and enter how many pieces of content you expect each creator to produce. It defaults to 1, and it feeds the projected views, so a two-deliverable campaign left at 1 under-reports by half.
Each field has an About control beside it carrying the product’s own explanation.
How to act on what the forecast reports
Check delivery forecast updates with the roster, so it moves as you add creators, move them between lanes, and as decisions arrive. Read it as you build rather than once at the end.
The following table covers what to do when a figure is not where you want it:
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| PREDICTED VIEWS short of the goal | Add creators to Top Picks, or move strong alternates up. Only the Top Picks lane counts toward the projection. |
| TOP PICKS short of the target | The lineup is not full yet. Add creators, or lower the target if the campaign has changed. |
| GOAL CONFIDENCE low with a full lineup | The roster is large enough but not strong enough for the goal. Replacing weaker top picks moves this further than adding more of them. |
| CONFIDENCE FLOOR far below goal confidence | Normal early on. It counts only approved creators, so it rises as your reviewers decide. A persistent gap late in a review means approvals are landing on the weaker half of the lineup. |
Set the baseline deliberately before sharing any figure. You choose the baseline under Views baseline in the display settings, at P50, P75, or P90, and a lower baseline is the more optimistic reading. A projection you quote without its baseline is not a number anyone can compare to anything.
Troubleshooting
Two questions come up most often when you set a goal, and both have a quick answer:
Goal confidence and confidence floor are both empty #
You have not set a VIEWS GOAL. Both figures measure against the goal, so both read as empty until one exists, and the review’s card on the Creator Reviews list reads no goal.
Projected views look wrong for the campaign #
Check DELIVERABLES / CREATOR before anything else. It defaults to 1, so a campaign asking creators for two or three posts projects a fraction of its real reach until you correct the field.
